When race car driver Jimmie Johnson won his seventh championship race, he had a good luck charm in the audience. Carlos is one of the driver’s biggest fans and had VIP tickets to watch one of his idols earn a historic win for holding the most championship titles, tied with Dale Earnhardt and Richard Petty.
During a garage tour, Carlos, who steers his own motorized wheelchair like a race car, was fascinated by the power and mechanics of the vehicles. He also got to explore the Homestead Miami Speedway and go down the track to experience where the magic happens.
He was surrounded by professional drivers and lit up when introduced to Jimmie Johnson at his motor coach. He asked his idol questions and wished Jimmie luck. Jimmie told Carlos that he would invite him to the Winner’s Circle if he won, and as promised, that’s just what happened. Carlos was smiling from ear to ear in awe of his wish day and all the excitement the memories will impact forever.
Meeting Jimmie Johnson provided Carlos with memories he will never forget. It was truly a life-changing experience for him and his family.
“Thank you Make-A-Wish for making my son, Carlos’, dream a reality,” his mother said.
