Dominic’s mother always refers to him as “her prince.” It was only fitting that Dominic wished to be treated like royalty with a Disney cruise to the Bahamas.
He was so excited to embark on his adventure at sea, as his family rarely went on vacation. When he got to his cabin aboard the ship, he was delighted to find a personalized message just for him on his pillow, along with many meet-and-greet invitations from his favorite Disney characters. Dominic could be seen with a perpetual smile on his face as he met characters all around the ship with a stuffed Mickey Mouse in hand.
Dominic was overjoyed to play in the water area at Castaway Cay. He giggled endlessly as he sat on the floor while water squirted all over him. It was a relief to not be confined to his wheelchair. The best part of the trip was experiencing it all with his family, who grew closer as a result.
Dominic’s cruise of a lifetime may have ended, but its impact is everlasting. “He has a more positive sense of being. He got to see and experience a life of being treated like a king. He wakes up daily and still talks about his experience on the cruise. He is an overall happy child, but now he knows he is extra special,” his mother said.
