Naomi always knew mermaids were real, even when she was told otherwise. Her hope and faith is what has kept her optimistic throughout her medical battle. On her wish day, she asked to be a mermaid but got so much more than that.
Naomi stumbled upon her new mermaid friends while walking along the shore with her family. They splashed and searched for seashells together. She was curious about their tails and wished that she could have one also, The mermaids thought that was a wonderful idea, and using their enchanted mermaid powers, Naomi got a tail of her own. Her tail was bright pink with sparkles all over; she was as happy as a clam.
Her father said, “She’s very talkative and right now she’s speechless.”
The mermaids taught Naomi how to swim around using her tail instead of her feet. She quickly caught on and was soon giggling as she swam around the pool with her new friends. Before they knew it, it was lunch time, and Naomi enjoyed chicken fingers and mermaid cupcakes while reminiscing about her amazing day as a mermaid.
“She’s been through so much, more suffering than someone at her age should be going through. This moment made it all so much more special and she is very deserving of it. I’m so happy for her.” – Naomi’s dad
