A trip to Boston was the perfect way for Jordan from Greenacres to take a break from battling his cardiac condition. This sports fanatic requested to watch his favorite hockey team, the Boston Bruins, play at their home rink. Attending hockey games with his dad was a favorite hobby of his, and he could not think of a better way to celebrate his 17th birthday. Traveling by limo to the airport, Jordan and his family were excited to explore Boston together, somewhere Jordan had never been.
On the plane, Jordan and his sister toured the cockpit which was just a taste of the special treatment to come. They arrived at the Onyx Hotel, located a block from the arena where the Bruins play. On game day, Jordan and his family listened to the play-by-play in the sportscast booth. He watched the game from excellent seats and met the Boston Bruins Ice Girls who gave him Georgetown cupcakes in celebration of his birthday. Jordan also met his favorite player, Zdeno Chara, as well as the coach and a few other players. He was thrilled to receive a personalized Bruins #33 jersey.
Jordan also toured Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox, where he looked up the Jumbotron to see a special message wishing him a happy birthday. The New England Aquarium was another fun experience, as was his first encounter with snow on his last day in Boston.
