Lakysha is a girly-girl in more ways than one. Her favorite colors are pink and purple, she’s loves playing dress up and her all-time favorite activity is SHOPPING! Suffering from sickle cell anemia, Lakysha braves frequent treatments and hardly ever gets the chance to be spoiled. So when it came time to make her wish, this 8-year-old wanted nothing more than the opportunity to be treated to a Target shopping spree. Make-A-Wish Southern Florida was happy to oblige her wish!
A limousine arrived at Lakysha’s Miami home, and whisked her away to the nearest Target for an all-day shopping spree. Once there, a personalized shopping cart decorated by the staff with ribbon and balloons was waiting for her. Lakysha shopped to her heart’s content, stocking up on her favorite fashions including headbands, make-up and anything PINK! “The best thing I got was a big TV,” she said. “Now I can watch the Disney Channel and all the shows I love!”
But the fun didn’t stop there. Once the limo was loaded up with all Lakysha’s treasures she and her family were treated to dinner at Ruby Tuesday. Lakysha indulged in her favorite meal – chicken fingers and french fries! A relaxing day of shopping was just what she needed to forget about the doctor’s visits and get back to being a diva.
