Taniya wanted to sail away on a magical cruise with her Disney friends and leave her troubles behind. Going through treatments for Hodgkin’s Lymphoma had been exhausting and excruciating. And with her father going through a medical battle of his own, she knew a fabulous family vacation was the best medicine. Just before their voyage, Taniya went into remission. Her mother said, “The trip became a celebration for Taniya and all of us. What a positive experience!”
Boarding the cruise ship was like entering a different world. Taniya felt like royalty, even more so after a visit to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. She was transformed into a princess, and glowed like a princess for the entire cruise.
There was so much to do, on and off the ship, but one experience that stands out for her was meeting Stitch. For a couple days she tried to meet him unsuccessfully, and then he suddenly appeared around a corner. The pair hung out, taking photos, signing her autograph book and sharing hugs.
“Taniya hasn’t had many reasons to be happy lately. This trip let her relax and be a kid. Being made up like a princess – she was so happy. Taniya is rarely overjoyed but that day she felt so happy and special. We made lasting memories,” her mother said.
