This is Michael. My family and I had an absolutely amazing and unforgettable time in Rome, Italy! The trip was simply one of the most extraordinary experiences any of us have ever had in our lifetimes. Everything was just so photogenic and enticing, that I ended up taking well over 1,500 photographs. Not only was it a new artistic experience but also a very spiritual one.
We took the tour bus around several times, taking in everything we possibly could, and I captured everything that I was able to, on my camera. This trip, also enabled us to really bond more. We hadn't been on a vacation since I was about 13, and as a family, we seemed to have just completely drifted apart due to our schedules. This trip helped restore our bond as a family. My mom certainly is a grade-A tourist, ha ha. I think the funniest moment was when she continuously said "hola" to everyone instead of "ciao."
We visited the more remote parts of the city, enjoying a little peace away from the busy streets of the Vatican City. Our final landmark visit was St. Peter's Cathedral, and I was almost as fascinated as I was with the Vatican. The indoor structure was simply amazing and it felt so holy and pure with positive energy and spiritual bliss. As souvenirs, I bought a set of three paintings of various landmarks, such as the Cathedral and the Fountain of Trevi, and a more modern photograph from a photographer, taken in the alleyways of Rome. I also bought a ring which has Italian prayers engraved on it, as well as a canvas scroll containing a replication of Michelangelo's painting of God and Adam, which holds a very symbolic meaning to me.
Rome was simply so beautiful; the whole week went so fast and we were so sad to leave the beautiful city. I will never forget this trip and my family will treasure the memories of the trip for the rest of our lives...There's so much more that I could say about the trip, but it was just overwhelming that...I really just have no idea how to put it to words. I seriously cannot thank you enough for making this all possible. If some other child like me, makes a wish to go to Rome, you can DEFINITELY tell them, it is something that will truly cherish for the rest of their lives!
