Eight-year-old Joey fantasized not only about waterslides, but waterslides while out at sea. He was eager to go on a Disney Dream voyage, which includes a 765-foot long water coaster around the sides of the vessel. Joey and his family set sail from Port Canaveral for a 4-night Bahamian Cruise.
This family trip was long overdue, as they had been planning on going before Joey was diagnosed with a brain tumor. He and his family were especially excited to go on this vacation and to relax together. For the duration of their cruise, the family stayed in a deluxe family oceanview stateroom with a verandah. This gave them the space to stay comfortably, while offering beautiful ocean views the whole trip. His favorite parts of the ship were the buffets, the kids club, and of course the AquaDuck water coaster. They enjoyed sailing to Nassau, Bahamas and Castaway Cay, Disney’s private island paradise. These tropical destinations were just what Joey needed to get his mind off hospitals and treatments.
A highlight of the trip was meeting Mickey Mouse. Joey also loved the themed dinners, his favorite being pirate night where everyone dressed as buccaneers. This wish was a way for Joey to give his family the trip they had been wanting to go on, and appreciate time together. All-in-all, this vacation was tons of fun and absolutely priceless.
