Amidst many surgeries and hospital visits, one thing in Ja’meir’s life remained the same: his love for Mickey Mouse. From watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse to drawing pictures of the mouse, Ja’meir knew a trip to Walt Disney World® would be the ultimate wish for him and his family.
When he arrived at Give Kids The World Village, he was treated like royalty as he and his family got to stay in a large villa, ride horses and eat endless amounts of delicious ice cream. The fun had only just begun; he and his family had access to all four Disney® parks, SeaWorld, Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure and LEGOLAND.
Ja’meir was so excited to go on his favorite ride, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, without waiting in line. He especially loved exploring the African attractions in Disney’s Animal Kingdom® Park and getting to sing with the characters from Frozen. After meeting character after character, the highlight of his trip was seeing his favorite cartoon, Mickey Mouse, come to life in front of his eyes.
“To have people come together to bring joy to children is the sound of an endless heartbeat because most of the days reflect so much pain, and Ja’meir was able to run with the wind and explore. To see him smile lets me know I made his heart sparkle, and when he sparkles it brings joy to our hearts,” his mother said.
