Wishes are the cornerstone of the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Southern Florida and we look forward to seeing every wish come true. Wishes can be small or large, simple or elaborate, but they are all important.
Below are some wishes that we’ve been proud to have helped make come true!
“I wish to go to Rome.”
Tiffany, Age 18
It is truly unnerving to have a life-threatening illness. Having to worry about the next time I'll be in the hospital or the next life experience I will miss out on. It can get difficult to bring the optimism back, but I work to make sure that there is always optimism. Over the summer, I found out that I was going to have my deepest desire granted by the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and I did not have to fight to be extremely excited. Read More

Aruna, Age 14
Just like most young girls, 14-year-old Aruna enjoys dancing, singing and watching her favorite celebs on TV. What separates Aruna is her toughness. She enjoys karate and football and loves cheering on the New York Jets. The toughness exemplified by football and martial arts also helps in her fight against thyroid cancer. The blend of these characteristics makes Aruna a truly special young lady whose wish was to enjoy a shopping spree. Read More

Shemar, Age 9
Nine-year-old Shemar of North Miami Beach had long dreamed of the opportunity to be a comedian. When not playing video games or watching his favorite cartoon SpongeBob SquarePants, he is busy making his mother and sister laugh. With a passion to make people laugh, it came as no surprise that Shemar’s wish was to be a comedian for a day. Read More

Nija, Age 14
As my summer break was coming to an end, and my first year in high school was about to begin, I just simply wanted to eat, sail on, swim, snorkel, have fun, meet new friends and chillax. The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southern Florida granted me my wish plus extras. Read More

Adrian, Age 8
With his 8th birthday approaching, Adrian from Miami knew how he wanted to celebrate – with his first-ever trip to the Orlando theme parks. So early one morning, he and his family left the hospital where he was receiving treatment for leukemia and set off for Mickey’s house. Read More

Peaches, Age 13
This summer, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southern Florida granted its 8,000th wish, becoming only the 5th chapter to achieve this incredible milestone. This is the story of Peaches’ wish to be a model. It’s also the story of how the South Florida community came together to make one child’s dream come true. Read More
