barbara-cornellier.jpgSeven years ago, Barbara Cornellier was introduced to the many volunteer opportunities at the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Southern Florida by a previous board member. Barbara, who has been volunteering for the Foundation ever since, says she loves being a part of this great organization.

From day one, she has volunteered as a wish granter and has made children’s dreams come true by granting more than 40 wishes. She works together with her niece, Kristen, and they grant wishes as a pair. Barbara said, “We’ve both gotten a lot out of volunteering for the Foundation.”

Currently working at Florida Gulf Coast University, Barbara enjoys going to the beach and having lots of family fun when she’s not working. She and her husband have been married for 19 years and have two children (pictured with her daughter).

Barbara’s favorite memories are granting celebrity wishes. She loves hearing about the wonderful experiences that she helps to make possible. According to her, the best part about the Make-A-Wish Foundation  is “seeing how appreciative the families are for what we do for them.”  Barbara believes that it is very fulfilling to contribute money or time.

If Barbara could wish for anything, she would wish to have peace of mind.
