James Louis Ferraro has long championed the little guy. Along the way, from his earliest days representing victims of corporate negligence, he has attained success and good fortune. And, from Jim’s way of thinking, good fortune is used for the betterment of others.
The father of three, James, Andrew, and Alexis could not be more passionate – or generous – especially about causes benefitting children. Jim’s commitment to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of South Florida organization is unwavering and his donations are legendary. As a member of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of South Florida Advisory Board, Jim enthusiastically personally pledged to purchase 20 wishes at the annual gala challenging attendees to do the same. They did (and more)!
“Granting a wish is almost like being a real life fairy godmother. You’re granting a wish for a person that may be the ultimate wish in their life. It doesn’t just affect the individual that gets the wish granted – it affects the person’s family, it affects the person’s friends, it affects your family, it affects your friends.”
In addition to his involvement with the Make-A-Wish Foundation of South Florida, Jim sits on the Board of Directors of the Children’s Home Society, United Way of Miami-Dade and The Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis. In recognition of his philanthropy, Jim was inducted in the Order of Saint John Knights of Malta, a worldwide organization dedicated to helping the sick and poor and was awarded the Ellis Island Medal of Honor, given to U.S. citizens from various ethnic backgrounds who exemplify outstanding qualities in both their personal and professional lives while continuing to preserve the richness of their particular heritages.
