Radio’s Paul & Young Ron to Host Make-A-Wish Foundation’s 11th Annual ‘Dream Date’ Auction

Hollywood, FL — Where can you bid on 20 of South Florida’s hottest singles and extravagant date packages?  Have a great time in a festive atmosphere while making a difference in the life of a local child?  Enjoy food, drinks and have the chance to win prizes?  Only at the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southern Florida’s 11th Annual Bachelor & Bachelorette Dream Date Auction.

The event (www.dreamdateauction.net) takes place Friday, July 24, at Opium Nightclub at Seminole Paradise in the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood.  Hosted by BIG 105.9 and The Gater 98.7 FM’s Paul Castronovo and “Young” Ron Brewer (www.paulandyoungron.com), the auction features bidding on bachelors (including the radio show’s “OMG” Mike), bachelorettes, and the date activities that come with each, including:
 A helicopter tour of Miami, South Beach and the island communities followed by dinner and dancing at Mango’s Tropical Café in Miami
 Swimming with dolphins at Miami Seaquarium
 A ride on the Goodyear blimp
 Tickets to see Jamie Foxx and dinner at Johnny V
 Champagne brunch at Rusty Pelican and kayaking on Biscayne Bay

100 percent of the event’s proceeds will go toward granting the wishes of South Florida children who have life-threatening medical conditions.

“The impact of this event goes far beyond the good time we’ll deliver to winning bidders and those who come to Opium,” said Norman Wedderburn, president & CEO of the Make-A-Wish
Foundation of Southern Florida.  “The wishes we grant from this event will enable local children to experience a time when their lives aren’t dominated by health issues but by heartfelt dreams coming true.”

Former Miss America – Touch of Class Becky Willard will be the auction’s reporter, circulating through the crowd and providing updates from the floor.  There will also be raffle prizes given away throughout the evening.  Some the items attendees will take home include a Hard Rock gift basket — filled with a Fender Stratocaster guitar, hotel stay, dining/gaming cards and other Hard Rock-branded stuff — one-day Bahamas cruises, hotel stays, wine tastings, and dive trips.

Tickets to the Dream Date auction are on sale for $25 in advance, $30 the night of the event, and include two drinks and appetizers.  A limited number of VIP tickets can be purchased for $40.  Doors open at 7:00 p.m. and the auction begins at 8:30 p.m.  For more information or to purchase tickets, call (954) 967-9474, ext. 320, or e-mail ccortez@sflawish.org.

Event supporters include BIG 105.9 and The Gater 98.7 FM, two of the stations on the “Paul & Young Ron Show” radio network, Opium Nightclub, the Miller Family Foundation, American Laser Centers, and Rock With U Entertainment.

Each year, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southern Florida (www.sfla.wish.org) fulfills the wishes of more than 500 children in 13 South Florida counties.  With $5,000 being the average cost of a wish, the nonprofit organization relies on fundraisers, corporate support, and donations from the public to bring hope, strength, and joy to families who need it most.
